It started with a candle...

I had a candle lit today. The wick was long and leaning to the side. The wax had built up around it and the tip had dipped over into the wax. The candle was very dim since there was little of the wick actually showing. I drained the wax, trimmed the wick and stood it up straight and relit it. The flame was ten times bigger and brighter. Before you couldn't even tell it was lit, after it shed a warm glow in the room.
We all have days/weeks/months that we seem stretched. We are leaning to the side (if even standing up) because we are stressed, worn out, tired, and busied by our schedule/life.
All this has gotten to us and we are barely holding on. Instead of just letting the wax (or life) harden around us, Jesus takes and drains it out. Jesus takes our sins, worries and burdens. He forgives us, loves us, encourages us and stands us upright. We are relit, refreshed, and renewed, we shine brightly again. Though we made need a fresh touch or a "draining" from God more often then we would like, He is willing and able to give it to us no matter what.
